Terms of Service
The agreement between you and OpenCinema for viewing and using the service.
1. The service
OpenCinema distributes long-form films, including AI-generated films, to viewers worldwide. Global availability of viewing is separate from the availability of paid plans, rentals, purchases, creator onboarding, and payouts, each of which is enabled market by market.
2. Viewer plans
There are three viewer states:
| Plan | Price | Playback | Advertising |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | US$0 | Standard qualities; no 4K or HDR | Ads enabled |
| Lite | US$2.99/month | 4K and HDR on supported titles, devices, and connections | Ads enabled |
| Premium | US$9.99/month | 4K and HDR on supported titles, devices, and connections | No ads |
All paid plans are monthly. Prices shown are initial reference prices; the price, taxes, and payment methods that apply to you depend on your market.
3. Trailers are free
Every title's trailer is viewable without an account, a subscription, a rental, or a purchase, including when the main film is paywalled.
4. Rentals and purchases
A creator may offer the main film for rental, purchase, or both.
- A rental creates a time-limited entitlement. You must start playback within the stated start window, after which the stated rental duration applies.
- A purchase creates a non-expiring entitlement for as long as OpenCinema holds the rights to offer the title and your account remains in good standing. It is not an unconditional promise of perpetual access after a rights takedown or legal restriction.
- Rental and purchase playback of the main film is ad-free.
- A Lite or Premium subscription does not include a title configured for separate rental or purchase unless OpenCinema has explicitly added that title to the subscription catalogue.
5. Playback and quality
4K and HDR playback is authorized at playback time based on your plan, the title, your device, your connection, your geography, and the applicable rights. Availability of a specific quality is never guaranteed for a specific session.
6. Accounts
Signup requires an email address, a password, and a phone number, or Google authentication. If a verified Google email matches an existing OpenCinema account, the login is linked to that account rather than creating a duplicate.
7. Acceptable use
You may not circumvent playback protection, resell access, scrape the catalogue, or use the service in a way that violates applicable law or the content policy.
8. Changes and termination
We may change these terms, the plans, or the catalogue. Where a change materially reduces what you have paid for, we will tell you before it takes effect.
